Advice from the trainer of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

According to his interview on GMA on May 26, 2011, the 1st 3 steps toward weight loss are
getting rid of
- sugar
- flour
- fried foods
Start eliminating them one by one throughout the day until you get them all erased from your diet.
Yes, it’s hard. Those three things are in everything. I suggest substitutions when possible (like whole grain flours when you want some usual flour fare), but I’m not sure you can get the weight loss he helped his clients achieve if you leave any of the 3 in your diet in any form.

I agree. While it is an impressive weigh loss and done through very hard physical and emotional work, it is very unrealistic for the average person who doesn’t have a trainer, personal chef, PT, etc.
